Creamy Prosciutto Gnocchi
Drumroll Please...Creamy Gnocchi in 10 Minutes!
I am a fan of gnocchi! The soft Italian dumplings are incredibly versatile and take on the flavor of the sauces they are served with. Now I know that Gnocchi are traditionally placed in the dumpling category but I personally treat them as pasta. Because they go with a lot of pasta sauces and never disappoint. Especially when you are hungry! So they can surely be placed in the same delicious category as pasta, can they not? Well, seeing as this is me that is writing this blog post about gnocchi ... I am deciding it is a form of pasta. With one big difference:
Gnocci are way more filling and leave you satisfied much longer than pasta - at least they do for me.
Before I share my recipe here is a few cooking tips (you will also find them at the end of the recipe if you want to jump there right away)
You can also watch my youtube short that shows the exact preparation method:

Season with salt and pepper (and other spices depending on the recipe) along the way. I like to add a little bit with almost every cooking step. This method ensures that your dish and especially sauces develop a nice rich flavor. It is often times to late to add more spices right at the end of the (almost) finished dish. Try it out next time you cook! 🙂
I do not precisely measure ingredients while cooking and I invite you to do the same! Add a sprig of thyme, a splash of white wine and the amount of salt and pepper that feels right to you - everyone’s taste buds are different when it comes to saltiness and spiciness.
My method of cream cheese as an alternative for cooking cream works very well in a lot of recipes. As most people tend to have cream cheese (plain or with e.g. herbs) at home, this works perfectly to give your dish a nice creamy consistency and a little bit of a cheese flavor without having to add enormous amounts of cheese. So you will save calories and ingredients.
